In an ongoing effort to educate ourselves and keep the issue of homelessness at the forefront, we have compiled some volunteer opportunities and information about what we can do to help those facing homelessness. Together we can make a difference!
On any given night, 60 to 100 youth are experiencing homelessness in the Rochester and Southeastern Minnesota area. Rochester Youth Services provides a safe environment where youth ages 16-24 can receive nonjudgmental assistance from caring and trustworthy adults who are knowledgeable in overcoming the barriers of homelessness.

The Landing MN is a day center for adults 18+ experiencing homelessness. The Landing MN works to break down the barriers between their guests and the services they need such as housing assistance, medical needs, and much more. Additionally, the organization provides necessities such as toiletries, shoes, food, clothing and laundry services to individuals facing homelessness.
The goal of the organization is to serve as a landing place for those in need, providing assistance and seeking resources to help individuals take positive steps toward security and stability in their lives. The organization works to have boots on the ground in the community, seeking out those who need a helping hand.
The Dorothy Day Hospitality House is a temporary homeless shelter for adults 18+ conveniently located in downtown Rochester, MM within walking distance to Mayo Clinic, buses, and community resources.
Volunteer opportunities include: checking guests in, helping them settle in to their room, cleaning common areas, doing laundry, cooking a meal, etc.
