Catholic Charities—Our Local Lenten Project

During Lent, we will be collecting items and monetary donations for Catholic Charities. You may donate online through the parish website or via check. Checks can be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Please write Lenten Project 2023 in the memo line. Monetary donations for the Lenten project will be accepted from February 22-April 10.

DONATE TO CATHOLIC CHARITIES

There are 3 opportunities to support the Lenten Project:

1. Make Welcome Kits for the Refugee Resettlement Program
2. Donate funds to the Mother and Child Fund using the link above or write a check and place in the weekly collection basket at church.
3. Participate in the Diaper and Wipes Drive (diapers size 1-6)

Items Needed:

• 2.5 gallon/large ziploc bags
• notebook/notepad
• folder (to hold important forms/papers)
• small pencil shrpener
• annual calendar
• push pins
• refrigerator magnets
• scissors (medium/large)
• scotch tape
• envelopes
• stamps (doesn't have to be a whole book)
• small flashlight

You may also opt to prepare a Refugee Welcome Kit together as a family and bring it to church. You're welcome to include a welcome note.

Fasting - those 18-59 only eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.

Abstinence -  those 14+ refrain from eating meat on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays during Lent.
