The purpose of the Sacred Heart Haiti Mission is to supply humanitarian necessities to the Haitian people and to aid in their education and housing needs. This is done through collecting, organizing and shipping those items to Haiti and working with various political administrations.
Throughout the United States, there are individuals and groups who sew cloth diapers, dresses, shorts, light-weight quilts, and much more to send to Haiti. There are also individuals who collect items from their friends and family and send to us for shipment. Several CCW groups throughout the Diocese of Winona-Rochester also collect and send items to us for shipment.
There is a Board of Directors that meets once per quarter (more often if needed) to discuss the best use of the donations we receive. Dale & Joyce travel to Haiti at least once per year and meet with various people in Haiti (priests, the Missionaries of Charity, building contractors, etc.) to assess where there is the greatest need for our monetary aid.
